Sobre mí

For over 40 years, I have been telling stories through photography, but it is in maternity, newborn, and family photography that I have found my most authentic voice. Every image is born from the desire to preserve what is fragile and precious: an ожидание, a breath, a bond that is growing. I recently opened my new studio-atelier in a truly special place—an old mill nestled in the countryside of Canavese. It is not just a workspace, but a home-studio designed to welcome families in a warm, intimate, and natural way. Here, time slows down, soft light fills the rooms, and every detail is thoughtfully created to make you feel at ease, just like at home. My approach is guided by listening and sensitivity. I allow moments to unfold naturally, always respecting the rhythm of newborns and the emotions of parents, creating images that are honest, elegant, and timeless. Every session is an experience, not just a photoshoot. I deeply believe in the value of tangible memories: photographs are fragments of life meant to be held, lived, and passed on. For this reason, I guide each family in choosing fine-art prints, crafted to last over time and become part of their story. After so many years, I still feel moved by the simple beauty of new beginnings. That is what I strive to preserve, every single day, through my work.

The delicate features of this young girl inspired me to create a simple and poetic portrait. I chose a soft, low-contrast side light to gently shape her face without overpowering her delicate features. I used a large fan to move her long hair, creating a sense of movement that contrasts with the calm and serene expression on her face. I asked her to close her eyes, and this simple gesture transformed the portrait into something more intimate and suspended, almost dreamlike. The movement of her hair seems to come from an invisible world, while her face remains still, peaceful and contemplative. It is this contrast between movement and stillness that I wanted to capture in the photograph.

"I wanted to celebrate pregnancy as nature’s most sublime work of art. Here, the transformation of the female body becomes visual poetry. For Sandra, I chose a pose on tiptoe, almost suspended, to bring lightness to her statuesque figure. The large black hat not only protects her intimacy, but acts as a theatrical frame that draws focus straight to the perfection of her evolving body. The delicate backlighting outlines her form, creating an image that speaks of genesis through just a few key elements."

I firmly believe that every pregnant woman is a Goddess, the keeper of the miracle of life, and she deserves to be photographed as such: proud, timeless, and divine. To bring this artistic vision to life, I wanted to create an image that balances sculptural strength with pure poetry. I wrapped the mother-to-be in a delicate tulle drape to introduce an ethereal texture, allowing the shapes of maternity to emerge with grace. Technologically, I chose a single side-light setup to sculpt the contours of her face and body, enhancing the depth of the black and white. I carefully guided her through the posing, paying close attention to every detail, and asked her to close her eyes. This simple choice transformed an intimate portrait into a suspended moment, achieving a dreamlike, serene effect that evokes deep inner peace.

Every photograph begins with an idea. With this portrait, I wanted to express the beauty of motherhood through a minimalist composition, where every element carries meaning and emotion. The image was built around a flowing red silk fabric embracing the mother-to-be. The vibrant red symbolizes life itself—its energy, warmth, and the invisible bond between mother and child. As the fabric gently unfolds, it naturally guides the viewer's eye toward the baby bump, the true heart of the composition and the place where a new life begins. Every element was intentionally placed to convey a deeper message: the black background represents silence and infinity, the flowing red fabric embodies the miracle of life, and the expectant mother stands as the timeless symbol of creation and hope. For me, maternity photography is far more than portraiture. It is an opportunity to transform emotion into a visual story—one that celebrates the mystery, the strength, and the extraordinary beauty of the beginning of a new life.

In Every Embrace, a Future Begins The beauty of pregnancy is not only found in the growing life, but also in the bond that surrounds it. This portrait celebrates trust, protection and connection. The mother's closed eyes and relaxed expression convey a sense of peace, while the embrace becomes a symbol of strength and support during one of life's most profound transformations. By reducing the scene to light, shadow and gesture, I sought to create an image that speaks about family before family can even be seen.

For me, capturing the beauty of pregnancy means capturing the strength, grace, and miracle of life. In this shot, I wanted to portray the expectant mother as a work of art: elegant, light, yet immensely powerful. The flowing fabric represents the magic of this waiting, a dance between the mother and the life about to be born. A special thank you to the beautiful model who made this shot possible. I am honored to share this award with all of you and with the fantastic families who choose me to immortalize their most precious moments Studio fotografico Nadar di Marco Goi. I have been creating maternity portraits for over forty years, and I believe that experimenting with new techniques is essential to keep growing as an artist. I love using color to create unusual and contemporary images, while always maintaining an elegant and essential style. To celebrate Veronica's pregnancy, I wanted a portrait with strong visual impact. I used two stripboxes with red gels placed behind the subject to create depth, while the main light, modified with a blue gel and positioned frontally, sculpted her face and body with an almost cinematic atmosphere. But technique alone is never enough. The most important element is always the person in front of the lens: every maternity shoot must be an authentic experience, one where a woman feels beautiful, strong and welcomed. For me, photographing a pregnancy is a true act of love — a way to celebrate the waiting, the transformation, and the arrival of a new life, creating an eternal memory of one of the most precious moments in existence.

Through maternity photography, I tell the profound beauty of a woman who brings new life into the world. Nothing is more powerful or wonderful. For Ombretta's portrait, I chose simplicity: a white backdrop lit by two stripboxes and a soft frontal light, creating a bright, timeless image. A simple white silk drape, moved by a fan, became part of the scene — almost an extension of the expectant mother's body and energy. But the heart of my work is always the connection: making Ombretta feel at ease, guiding her gently through each movement, and letting her feel like an active part of the creative process. That is where photography truly begins — and it is in that moment that a single shot captures all the magic, strength and femininity of motherhood.
